The UN Sustainable Development Goal #7, adopted in 2015, sets the ambitious target to double the rate of improvement for energy efficiency, within the wider goal to achieve universal access to clean, affordable energy by 2030. Additionally, it was shown that energy efficiency measures can deliver almost half of the 2030 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction target set out in the agreement reached by the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP21) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), known as the COP21 Paris Agreement (UNFCCC, 2018).Past trends linking economic growth, rising energy demand and higher emissions expose the need to design and build future systems that deliver energy services much more efficiently. I am sure that NEECA, with its inspired team shall be able to develop and implement projects which will Pakistan competitive in all sectors of the economy.
